Founded in 1995, the Künstlerhaus Schloss Balmoral in Bad Ems is a place for reflection, artistic production and discussion, as well as a meeting place. Are you an emerging professional with a bold idea for sustainable architecture? The Experimental Fellowship at Bauhaus Earth has an open call for applications in the next round of its fellowship program. The program gives you the time, resources, and guidance to develop your ideas in practice. The fellowship lasts for a flexible period of six to nine months and encourages open, practice-driven exploration. The Experimental Fellowship at Bauhaus Earth welcomes a broad spectrum of emerging international professionals in the fields of architecture, design and engineering, art, and interdisciplinary constellations of architectural production. Grant projects are question-based on clear research questions and typically aim at producing architectural fragments of manageable scale that serve as tangible and measurable examples of new forms of construction. They should aim for longevity and integration into a real social context. Fellows receive a monthly stipend of €1500 for individual projects and €2500 for partnerships, coverage for project-related expenses and production costs that can total up to €30,000, career guidance, access to a support network and a working environment. The jury will meet in June, successful applicants will be notified by July, and the scholarship will be awarded until March 2026. The Werkleitz Association supports professional artists and young artists, directs and presents cinematographic and audiovisual works, from short films and documentaries to interactive installations and projects for the internet. The annual Werkleitz Festival, which evolved from the Werkleitz Biennale, is an international platform for the presentation of videos and media art in the new German states. The Werkleitz annually supports up to four media and film projects by German or foreign artists. The grant includes free access to the Werkleitz Media Lab's technical equipment (excluding insurance) for a period of up to 14 days (of production). Project proposals can be sent at any time by email to info(@)werkleitz.de. In addition to the registration form with technical data, the project must be clearly described in the presentation. Depending on its scope, it can include a script, detailed description, sketches and other forms of visualization, artists' resumes, and any references (DVD, catalogs, URL).
